Bad Guys to love

When I was a kid, my favorite Ninja Turtle was Raphael. My Favorite X-Man was Wolverine, and the character I most identify with in Aang's  Avatar series, is Zuko. The guy I aspire to be in that series is his Uncle Iroh. But these guys are initially introduced as the bad guys. The ultimate villain is the Fire Lord and Zuko's sister Azula. But we don't meet them until later.
Avatar the last air bender is definitely for children. hardly anyone dies in the series, they are always captured and those that do die usually die off screen or a long time ago, or when they die it is a very bog deal and it happens in a realistic way so that the violence isn't just fun. By contrast we watched the King's Men yesterday. I felt the need to finish it because we spent 5 dollars to rent it. Grace should have listened to me and we all could have watched Avatar episodes I really regret having let Noah see that. I didn't mind the countless F bombs which just lost their meaning after a while. It was the violence. It was ridiculous.

In the Avatar the bad guys always have their point of view and reason for doing things, except for the Fire lord and Azula who really are just bad and he is the villain throughout all four seasons (or books as they are called.)
All the other obstacles that Aang faces has nothing to do with the overall plot and is your typical Saturday Morning Cartoon adventures that end in a few episodes type of thing. But in the Legend of Korra, the bad guys define each series. In fact you only really find out about who Korra is by who she is fighting. And each villain is more like Zuko, where he really see his or her point of view and the reason why they do bad things. They are all trying to make the world a better place in some way or another.
