"The days are just packed"
After a fun time folding things at Showa we went to the pond and the kids have been playing with sand and so is for hours.
Even this morning we went to the library and then to the park where we played with sticks and rocks and grass that was dry. I vaguely know what they are playing, but I mostly keep out of the way and allow their imaginations to run free.
This is the best. The Calvin and Hobbes like dream world I had always wished for as a child.... collecting acorns under the oak trees in Castle Square.... a sad comparison really to this wonderful park.
Perhaps New Jersey will be even better though as the yard is so big.

Sun tea
Every morning, for a while now, I have been making tea in the microwave. My glass and tea pot is a mason jar. I am th only tea drinker in the house so there is no point in making too much at a time.
Later in the day I would make sun tea. It occurred to me if I made the tea for the next morning the day before, I wouldn't have to use the microwave. And maybe tea in the morning once is good enough for the day. I will just drink water for tyhe rest of the day.
Of course the tea Isn't hot... and I don't think u will want to continue doing this in the winter....but this will be my summer morning ritual.

Origin of stories and behaviors
On the way to the park Jonah gave me the inside scoop on some of his behaviors. He had these cute songs and sayings. One was a song he had made for me. A personal theme song. The baba song. He would also go up to me and his mommy and say, "parents!" In a cute way which I thought he had invented.
Today he confessed that he was not copies rheae exactly, buyt he had adapted them from other songs and behaviors he had seen on the Disney channel he had watched at a friend's house years ago.
Noah of course adapts everything for stuff that has been put into his head on way or another. But he doesn't know where the origin if tyge behavior comes from.
I saw on Bill Nye that so can now do this with painting and provably other forms of art.
Probably we do not do much more than this. A good deal of content that we create is based in other prtevious content. A place where we, "got the idea."
The question is whether we know this is ty e case and whether we know from whence said ideas came.
Good ideas can come from anywhere really. But if you only ever expose yourself to a certain diet of ingredients.....you probably limit the adaptations that you can create.

Hedges
I do not do a very good job cutting the hedges. The reason I know this is because the neighbors do a much better job. Cleaner, neater, and faster, with electrical cutters that we also have, but I hate to use. The funny thing , people passing by keep complimenting our hedges saying that they love the manual cutters. "Stop encouraging him!" I can imagine my wife saying. Isn't strange when you think you are an outlier, but find instead that there are many like-minded people?

Sensitivity
Sensitivity train g us nothing new. And I am noit saying that people need to have a thicker skin. Comments can be hurtful and can be done without thinking.
I have been both victim and perpetrator in these types of things. But I think we are ijn the stage of society now where it is cool to complain and shame the perpetrator with hashtags and simple phrases that also have less thought put I to them than the original un pc. "crime."
Of course to do nothing....is that better or worse?
Probably worse. But I have noticed that there has become a contest to see who isbthe most politically correct. Who knows all the right terms and never makes a mistake.
On the left it seems like they have started up with some being more equal than others. A sexy techie new aged animal farm.
The right is as it always has been really. They left tries to make it look like it is worse.....but I have doubts.
I think what always has been true is just as true now. That it's a good time, always has been, to try and find common ground and out aside differences when we can. Not so much be cause it is the moral rlthung to do. More because it is easier to get ahead that way.
