Yesterday we went to Honey Pot Apple orchards because, apparently there was buy one bag get one free. There were also no crowds at all. And Apple Picking is just infinitely better than trick or treating. It's the same concept when you think about it. Except that the treat is pretty healthy for you. I heard that they used to give out apples for Halloween, but that stopped when some crazy people put razors in it. The truth is, any candy can be poisoned or evil trick could happen. It's too bad we can't to the apples anymore.
After that we went to Dumpling Daughter in Weston. It was pretty cool that they had books you could read there. I started reading some Dr. Seus to the kids while we waited for food. Last time Grace had ordered some stuff that basically all tasted the same. It was good, but we didn't get that variety. This time we had the pork sandwiches, the pork ramen, the beef noodles, and Chicken Katsu on rice.
I want to say that this food is pretty much the same quality that you would get in Taiwan. The only difference is that the noodles aren't made there right in front of you. But seriously it's good.
Night time arrived early because of the time change.
That feeling of it being dark early and the kids still being energetic really brings out the feelings of "winter" and "holiday" for me. It makes me want to run outside under the moon and do some Kung Fu or something. But I'll settle for Meditation and stretching with some calisthenics inside.
